Moonlight Sonata: A Sleepless Dream
There are stories that begin with spectacle, and then there are stories that begin in silence.
Moonlight Sonata: A Sleepless Dream belongs to the latter. Written by Kreation Avenue founder De'Andre French, the project is a deeply personal, cinematic narrative shaped by grief, resilience, and the quiet endurance of hope. It’s a coming-of-age story wrapped in dream logic—one that moves less like a plot and more like a memory you can’t quite shake. At its center is Michael, a young boy whose world fractures early. His mother is killed in a car accident. His father, the only anchor left, is locked away in prison for a crime he didn’t commit—an injustice Michael doesn’t yet understand. What he does understand is absence. And it’s from that absence that the story unfolds. Michael enters a world that is as beautiful as it is unforgiving. Each chapter presents a new challenge—some grounded, some surreal—all pushing him forward, away from childhood and toward something harder: truth. The journey is filled with wonder and danger in equal measure, but the mission remains clear. Make it home. Save his father. Reclaim what was taken. The emotional backbone of the film is its music, inspired by Moonlight Sonata by Msaestro Ludwig van Beethoven—a piece long associated with longing, solitude, and restrained power. For French, the connection runs deep.
“Moonlight Sonata was the first piece that I learned on piano, and Beethoven’s story spoke to me. This was written during COVID. I laughed, I cried, and I lived inside this score while writing it.” — De’Andre French
That emotional honesty carries through the project. A Sleepless Dream doesn’t rush its moments or explain its pain. It allows space—for silence, for reflection, for the audience to feel rather than be told. The result is a story that feels intimate even when the world expands, cinematic without losing its soul. This is not just a story about loss. It’s about endurance. About a child navigating a fractured reality with imagination as his compass. About the quiet belief that truth, no matter how buried, can still be reached. Moonlight Sonata: A Sleepless Dream is coming to a screen near you—but it’s already doing what the best stories do.
It lingers.
